Just outside the village of Grundarfjörður, Kirkjufell rises as a striking 463m cone-shaped peak, known as “Church Mountain” and one of Iceland’s most recognisable landmarks. At its base, the graceful Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall adds to the stunning scenery. Take a short shuttle from the harbour and explore this breathtaking landscape at your own pace.

Walking or activity information: The waterfall is a short walk from the shuttle bus parking area. Paths are clearly marked and consist of well-maintained gravel, suitable for a moderate level of fitness.
