Remains of a Society
If conditions allow, we’ll take our small expedition boats to the abandoned settlement of Unga Village.
You’ll disembark on a solitary coast where raw nature, infinite landscapes, and wildlife rule. Admire silver-grey wooden buildings as they drown in a sea of grass and pink louseworts. Learn about life in Alaska’s Aleutian Islands during the gold rush. Walk among the abandoned wooden houses that nature is in the process of reclaiming entirely. Be sure to bring your camera!
