Savissivik means ‘the place of material for knives’ and meteorite fragments have been used here for centuries to make Ulus, or Inuit knives. As you explore at leisure, some locals may have small pieces to show you.

  • Remarks/requirements: Please note that this is an isolated community rarely visited by cruise ships, so there are no professional tourist services. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress according to the weather. Layers are recommended. 

  • Walking or Activity information: At guests' discretion. Includes some walking over uneven surfaces.
